Lies Parents Tell Their Children plus Friday Frivolity

Besides the three characters (Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy) I don’t tell J too many little white lies. I am more of a “because I said so kind” of mom. I am also a non-judgemental mom. If you stretch the truth to keep the peace in your home, I have no qualms about it. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. With that said, our Friday Frivolity host theme is Lies Parents Tell Their Children memes.

This is definitely the situation in our house. I will break out the science and hubby will change the subject.

This one is soooooo tempting. But, I usually stick with “over my dead body” or “ask Daddy to take you”.

I have friends that told their kids it was a music truck that just went around playing music for everyone to enjoy and dance to. Then Dora told them the truth! grr

Unfortunately this is actually the case for most of the battery operated dollar store nightmares he gets from certain relatives.

  1. Aw, thank you SO much for the sweet shout-out! Wow, this is A LOT better than the Good Friday that started with my daughter running past my bed to throw up in my bathroom. Which I thought would be the worst part of the day. Until I found the lice. On 3/4 of our family. Not precisely the “goodest” Good Friday we’d ever had. But every one since then has been fabulous by comparison! 😉 Anyway, thank you for this lovely honor. And by the way: “I am more of a “because I said so kind” of mom. I am also a non-judgemental mom. If you stretch the truth to keep the peace in your home, I have no qualms about it. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.” Amen, sister. 🙂 Have a joyous Easter weekend!

    1. I love chocolate (just ate a handful of chocolate eggs as a matter of fact).

Luckily we have dodged the lice bullet even though that and pink eye are making the rounds at school. Spring Break came at a good time.

  2. Awesome feature! Elizabeth is my hero for spotlighting all things chocolate.

Oh, the dollar store toys…I could go a lifetime without ever having another one of those in my house! The ones that are gifted to my kids usually wind up mysteriously disappearing about a week later…

Add me to the list of lying parents! haha
