    completely lost my mind

    Jul 17, 2013 · Leave a Comment

It is official. I have completely lost my mind.

I took off my glasses before I helped J fall asleep like I do every night to prevent them from being destroyed. Ten minutes later, my utterly exhausted little guy fell asleep and I started to sneak out. But I couldn't find my glasses.

I looked on the dresser by the light switch where I normally place them. I retraced my steps, several times. I absolutely could not remember where I put them. Yes, I checked the top of my head. I never put them there, especially not at bed time, but I still checked, twice!

Have you ever tried to find your glasses without your glasses? If you are half blind like me you understand. They aren't just reading glasses, I need them to SEE.

I proceed to fumble around his room in the fading sunlight desperately searching. Not on the hamper, not on the changing table (now 2nd dresser), not on the stuffed animal bed (former crib), not in the rocking chair (removed all pillows 3 times to be sure). Finally I found a flashlight and crawled around on my hands and knees to search the floor. NO WHERE!! I even considered crawling into the bed and frisking the kid for a second. Nope, not risking waking Zip Van Winkle for that.

After 20 minutes I gave up and was just going to clear a path for my husband to walk through the house when he gets home at 11 tonight and then go to bed before I got a raging headache. I headed for the stairs and there they were. On the ledge next to the stairs.

I still have no recollection of putting them there. My mind is gone! If you see it, can you please let me know? I might need it someday. For now I am going to bed.
