For the last few weeks my husband and I have been looking into swim lessons for J. One was $250 for 10 straight days of one on one 10 minute lessons. Others were only 20 minutes one day a week for 2-3 students.
The cheapest and quickest option is through the city rec program. But, because M has night classes starting at the end of the month we were limited to morning times. Sign up starts the Saturday before classes at 8am, first come first served either online or in person. Much better than a few years ago when parents would queue up first thing before dawn and they would raffle off the slots.
Basically it boiled down to 12 slots for a city of over 100,000 people.
I checked that I had my log in info last night and even prepaid the registration fee last night so I could jump on at exactly 8 a.m., click our desired time and checkout. Everything went according to plan until payment time, my prepayment wasn't coming up. It wanted a credit card number to proceed. Forget it, I grabbed my wallet typed the 16 numbers and expiration date and hit checkout. WE ARE IN!!! I'll figure out what to do about the double payment later.
In case you think I was overly anxious about it, as of 8:20 a.m., only 3 morning slots are left. Yeah, I have checked twice in the last 20 minutes to see if I was overthinking it too much.
Glad to know for once I was right to be obsessive.
J learning to swim should be the easy part.
