Inspiring Quotes by Women plus Friday Frivolity

Every week on Friday Frivolity, your hosts try to write about the same subject. Same concept, three different interpretations. Be sure to check out what Sarah and Lisa posted too.

This week it is Inspirational and Encouraging memes. I decided to make a few of my own with quotes from some very inspiring women:

Find something you're passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it. Julia Child

I am a food blogger, of course I am leading off with Julia Child. Truthfully, she has been one of my heroes since my youth. She didn't even launch her cooking career until she was in her 40's. And her passion for food definitely showed in her books and shows, which inspired an entire generation of foodies and continues to inspire generations later.

[Tweet "Find something you are passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it. #JuliaChild "]

Dr. Joyce Brothers: Success is a state of mind. If you want success, start thinking of yourself as a success.

For you youngsters out there, before Dr. Phil, Dr. Joyce Brothers was the pre-eminent TV psychologist. And how can you not love a woman whose television career was launched by winning the $64,000 Question based on her knowledge of BOXING TRIVIA? This quote speaks volumes for the power of positive thinking.

The Most Effective Way to Do it is to do it. Amelia Earhart

Amelia Earhart's ending may not have been what she wanted it, but she wasn't afraid of failure. She died trying. Sometimes we just need to jump in a venture with both feet even if we might fail.

    Jane Austen: Success supposes endeavor.

[Tweet "Success supposes endeavor. Jane Austen #success #quotes #austen"]

I am a Jane-ite so I had to fit Ms. Austen in here. This particular quote is from Emma, which is one of my favorite novels. Austen had a great knack for cutting to the heart of the matter and this quote sums it up. You won't be successful if you don't act.

Erma Bombeck: When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, 'I used everything you gave me'.

If I can't be Julia Child, I want to be Erma Bombeck. Wry and witty and a delightful ability to turn the most mundane task into a hysterical anecdote. Who else could create a hysterical essay about changing the toilet paper roll? And I have no doubt God felt she fully used every drop of talent he gave her.

Harriet Beecher Stowe: Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.

[Tweet "Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn. #quotes #success"]

I am embarrassed to admit, I have actually never read Uncle Tom's Cabin. I am adding it to my Goodreads list, I promise. I love this quote: just keep going even when it seems tough.
