Wishing You A SciFi St. Patrick’s Day!

We are going Irish again with our Friday Frivolity Host theme. Last year I shared some fun Irish Girl memes, this year I’m having a SciFi St. Patrick’s Day.

I have always disliked the pinching part of St. Patrick’s Day.

Admit it you read it in your head as Leprekhaaaaann.

Since St. Patrick’s Day is on a Friday this year we enjoyed our corned beef last Sunday and will be enjoying a meatless meal on the 17th.

Over on That Recipe we have recipes for Baked Corned Beef and Colcannon as well as Beef Stew with Guinness and a host of other Irish recipes.

  1. Thank you for hosting. I hope you have a great week!

    1. Thanks for linking up with us every week.

  2. Our diocese gave us a dispensation so we can eat corned beef and cabbage today. However, no one in my family will touch the stuff. :/ So it’s a St. Patrick’s Day salmon for us! (Who am I kidding? Probably fish sticks…) 🙂

    1. We did fish sticks last week. You’d be proud of my husband, it was a buy one get one offer so we have another pack for later this lent. ha ha!

  3. I loved the memes! The hulk and yoda ones were my favorite. You brought up a very serious point too about Lent and St. Paddy’s day. I never considered their overlapping before. There are some very unhappy corned beef lovers out there today I’d guess. Xx

    1. It happens every few years. As Jamie mentions, there are a few dioceses that allow people to skip the obligation.

  4. thanks for the smile – loved seeing Captain Picard with a red beard!

    1. Ha ha, that one made me smile too, even though it was a bit disconcerting.

  5. We usually wait until after St. Patrick’s Day so we can get the corned beef on sale anyway! #FridayFrivolity

    1. It goes on sale here before hand, so I picked up two.

  6. Super late but I love these! The hulk one is my favorite!! 😀

    1. Seriously! I hate the pinching idea.
