Llama Loot Pinata Box Top Collection Box Makes BTFE Collecting Fun

    Sep 24, 2018 · Leave a Comment

This Llama Loot Pinata makes collecting all of those box tops for education more fun. Or help children make it and fill it with their own loot.

Most crafters can just look at the finished product and know how to assemble it, but I go into a bit more detail for those that have bever created a pinata before.

I know it looks like a lot of supplies, but most of these you probably have in the house or can be rescued from the recycle bin. The actual  Fortnight Llama Loot Pinata has a lavender head, but all I had that was close was dark pink.

    Mini Llama Loot Pinata supplies:

    4 toilet paper rolls
1 clean and empty raisin or small oatmeal container
tissue paper in lavender, light blue, dark blue, purple, and black
    2 sheets scratch paper
    scrap white paper
    scrap brown construction paper
    scrap card stock
    brown ribbon
    glue
    masking tape
    scissors
    black marker

    Mini Llama Loot Pinata instructions

Feet: Cut two of the toilet paper rolls in half and cut tabs ¼" tabs around one end.

Feet: Roll each foot into a cone shape with the tabs on the big end.

Feet: secure the feet with masking tape.

Neck: Cut one end of a toilet paper tube at a slight angle and cut tabs.

Head: cut large slits in one end of the last toilet paper roll and attach to the neck. Secure with tape.

Body: Attach the feet to the bottom and neck to the top of the raisin container (note: the feet should actually be closer to the edges than shown in the picture).

Body: Cut a hatch in the top for the box tops.

Body: Use the two sheets of scratch paper to pad the chest and rear and make them more rounded.

Decoration: glue dark blue tissue paper to cover the feet.

Decoration: glue two small scraps of card stock to create the ears. Glue lavender tissue paper to cover the head and neck.

Decoration: Cut 2 inch wide strips of tissue paper. Fold in half lengthwise and cut down the folded end about ¾ of the way.

Decoration: Glue the uncut part of the strips around the body, leaving the fringe unglued.

Decoration: Cut the tail in a similar way and glue in place.

Saddle Bags: cut a scrap of cardboard to fit over the top of the pinata and hang down the sides. Cover in brown construction paper. Glue two small rectangles of white paper on the sides and draw up arrows on them with the marker.

Attach the ribbon around the head and neck for head and neck.

Finishing touches: Cut oval circles from white paper and make eyes. Cut and shape the mouth, cover the teeth with white paper.
