Are you a crafty individual looking for a fun and easy way to dress up your kitchen or give a unique gift? Look no further than these DIY decorated kitchen towels!
Perfect for any occasion, these towels are also a great donation item for craft sales.

As an avid crafter myself, I needed an item to donation for our church's upcoming anniversary carnival craft sale.
So, I created these simple yet charming kitchen towels using plain cotton dish towels and a reusable embroidery transfer pack with delightful kitchen designs.
Supplies
I started with some plain cotton dish towels (affiliate link)
And picked up an embroidery transfer pack with fun kitchen designs (affiliate link). I was able to reuse each design 3 times before it started to get too faint to use again. This leaves me plenty to use for other projects.
I already had the iron, needles, embroidery floss, hoop and fabric markers (affiliate link).
Directions
I prewashed the towels then ironed on the designs.

Next, I sewed them up with a simple backstitch (plus a few French knots and some lazy daisies as well). If you need a tutorial on these stitches, visit Cutesy Crafts.

Then I enhanced the designs by coloring some of them with the fabric color markers.

The final step was to iron the towels again to heat set the markers and smooth out the marks from the hoop.

Now I just need to donate them to the church and try not to spend too much money at the sale and carnival.

Cost breakdown
The total cost for all of the supplies minus the iron is about $48 or about $4 per towel. But, you'd have the embroidery hoop plus plenty of transfers and markers, and probably floss, left to use for other projects.
