My son started summer vacation this week so I decided to make him help me with the post for this week's "Monkey Around" host theme. We considered Curious George or Dixie and Diddy Kong. But, after some deliberation, we decided on cute monkey videos.
I wanted to go with this, but Mr.9 going on 14 gave me the disgusted "No, mom. real monkeys.
When we saw this one he kept shouting, "NO! Give it to him, don't eat it!" (hmm, this monkey follows directions as well as you do.)
"This one is fun". Cute dancing monkeys (and other simians)
Oh my goodness. Zip Van Winkle was surprisingly quiet when he saw this one. Only in my dreams would he fall asleep that quickly.
And to round it out here is cute little Lenny singing.
More importantly, the person that uploaded the Lenny video explains
" UPDATE: He was born at a rescue, I fostered/raised him, and he is now in an awesome home living better than some people!
Do you want a monkey? No. You need permits and owning one is like having a 2 year old (who can jump 10 feet and tear things apart in 3.4 seconds) for 40 years. 10 years if you feed them crap.
Do you still think you want a monkey? Then go volunteer for a year with them. If you can find a place and stick with it, then congrats, you are one of few!
Do I want or own monkeys? NOPE. I loved raising him but would NEVER want the responsibility of caring for an adult monkey!
Should monkeys even be kept as pets? That's neither here nor there - they are, and there are awesome rescues who help repair the mistakes people make when they do get monkeys as pets but don't know any better."

"Mr. 9 going on 14." Snort. I could introduce him to an older woman if you want: my very own Miss 13 going on 21. Let me know. 😉

I ALWAYS wanted a pet monkey when I was a kid... I did have a stuffed one, but no real one. As an adult, I think WHY did I ever want one?????? 🙂 Thank you for hosting the party.

Okay, first off, of COURSE we both posted that Monkees video -- I was betting money that you'd have it here, too! Secondly, I am SO glad you added that blurb that went along with that final monkey, because that was completely hilarious! #FridayFrivolity
