It is almost time to replace the Valentine's Day wreath on my front door with something for the new month. I decided to skip over St. Patrick's Day this year, even though I am 31% Irish, and move on to Easter.
Like the Valentine's Day wreath I decided not to spend any money and only use what was in the house.
This ended up being a mother-daughter project, even though my mother had no idea.
The Decoupaged Eggs
I had a bunch of decoupaged styrofoam eggs that my mom had made me last year.
Instead of displaying them in a basket or bowl somewhere I thought this would be a nicer way to show them off. To make them she cut out some tissue paper and paper napkins.
Then applied to the styrofoam egg with some watered down white glue and added ribbons, stickers and other decorations.
To make the wreath, I wrapped an old falling apart grapevine wreath with some white netting.
Then I hot glued the eggs around the wreath.
I made a little Happy Easter sign by decoupaging a fabric scrap to a piece of cardboard and trimming it once it was dry.
For the bow I folded some green wired ribbon accordion style and sewed one end.
Then I opened it and fluffed it up until I got the look I was going for and hot glued it on the wreath.
And finally I wrapped some pretty see through pansy ribbon around the wreath because I just wasn't feeling the white mesh.

This is so cute! I've never thought of having a wreath for other events, it's always been just a Christmas thing - I love the idea of it though! x #FridayFrivolity

Thanks, Jess. I think it is just a nice little way to welcome people to my home.
I love that you created this wreath with stuff you already had around the house! That's pretty much the way I "shop" for home decorations, too! #FridayFrivolity
