Since everyone is celebrating the love of my life's birthday this weekend, the Friday Frivolity crew is dedicating our posts to "LOVE"...
Wait, you mean all of the hearts and flowers and pink and red everywhere are NOT for my husband's birthday? Hmmph! to hear him tell it from the second that first Valentine's Day item goes up in the store it is all to celebrate him.
He is joking, of course. For the first 10+ years of our relationship I spent "the most romantic day" of the year the same way he had since he was a child: at his parents house with his entire family singing him happy birthday over a chocolate cake his mother made in the shape of a heart. Every... Single... Year...
For him, it was either grin and bear it or dare offending his mother. Finally, I think one of his older sisters suggested that she might like to go out on a date on Valentine's Day and then we were finally able to do what he always wanted to do: nothing.
The anecdote may explain my choices below. Full of love with a little bit of humor too. Which is actually our secret to 28 years together and counting.
Now I finally understand the theory of relativity. Maybe I should go back and try Physics again. Or maybe not.
She has a good point. Maybe that's what Miss Marple was holding out for, a nice archaeologist to appreciate her.
Not laugh out loud like some of Carlin's musings, but you have to admit he has a point. It's hard to find common ground when you think you are both from completely different worlds.

Why do we do this to ourselves, ladies?! Love each other for who you are, faults and all.
Great advice from one of my favorite authors. The marriage vows say for better or worse for a reason.
I define "now and then" as everyday, don't you? (If you are curious that's a delicious Gluten Free Quinoa Chocolate Cake in the background) .

Now on to the link-up! 😀
The Hosts:
Lisa is an awesomely hilarious and wonderfully authentic writer who marches to her own drum on her blog Syncopated Mama, providing an "un-labelly spot" for all the happily off-beat folks out there who have been wishing to find kindred spirits. She shares her adventures building a natural home, teaching her adorbs daughter, establishing and refining positive communication skills, camping, creating, cooking, and so much more! I will be making her Heavenly Whole Wheat Herb Bread soon!
This adorable recycled Valentines Love Bug Craft from Samantha at Motivated Days. I think it is a great project for toddlers to older kids. And I have been told Grandparents love this kind of things. At least my son's grandparents.
Now time for the new stuff!
This a link-up for all things funny, fun, encouraging, hopeful, and happy. That includes free printables, giveaways, and other fun stuff to make us SMILE and start the weekend off on the right foot.
