Besides the three characters (Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy) I don't tell J too many little white lies. I am more of a "because I said so kind" of mom. I am also a non-judgemental mom. If you stretch the truth to keep the peace in your home, I have no qualms about it. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. With that said, our Friday Frivolity host theme is Lies Parents Tell Their Children memes.
The Hosts:
Sarah Eliza is on a mission to Devastate Boredom by living a life full of all of her favorite things... friendship and connection, laughter, books and music, furbaby love, minimalism, wellness pursuits, Paleo-ish cooking, and on and on! Sarah reviews a wonderful book I'm Happy For You (Sort of... Not Really) by Kay Wills Wyma.
Lisa is an awesomely hilarious and authentic writer who marches to her own drum on her blog Syncopated Mama, providing an "un-labelly spot" for all the happily off-beat folks out there who have been wishing to find kindred spirits. She shares her adventures building a natural home, teaching her adorbs daughter, establishing and refining positive communication skills, camping, creating, cooking, and so much more! She has a fun learning activity centered around Dr. Seuss's ABC Book that can be adapted for any ages.
Jessica is an amazingly funny and smart blogger from Wales who writes on a whole range of topics -- from entertaining vintage nostalgia, to technology tutorials, to book reviews, to raising her adorable munchkin, and so much more! Chuck E Cheese is really not for just birthday parties? I had no clue! 😉

Shhhhh! Don't tell! 🙂

Aw, thank you SO much for the sweet shout-out! Wow, this is A LOT better than the Good Friday that started with my daughter running past my bed to throw up in my bathroom. Which I thought would be the worst part of the day. Until I found the lice. On 3/4 of our family. Not precisely the "goodest" Good Friday we'd ever had. But every one since then has been fabulous by comparison! 😉 Anyway, thank you for this lovely honor. And by the way: "I am more of a “because I said so kind” of mom. I am also a non-judgemental mom. If you stretch the truth to keep the peace in your home, I have no qualms about it. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do." Amen, sister. 🙂 Have a joyous Easter weekend!

I love chocolate (just ate a handful of chocolate eggs as a matter of fact).
Luckily we have dodged the lice bullet even though that and pink eye are making the rounds at school. Spring Break came at a good time.
Jamie @ Medium Sized Family says
Awesome feature! Elizabeth is my hero for spotlighting all things chocolate.
Oh, the dollar store toys...I could go a lifetime without ever having another one of those in my house! The ones that are gifted to my kids usually wind up mysteriously disappearing about a week later...
Add me to the list of lying parents! haha
Audrey Humaciu says
I actually got caught regifting one this week! Usually they end up in a bag and taken to the school's speech department to give away as prizes.

I love these! My Mom's big lie involved how she found out that I did something I wasn't supposed to do, but she was like you...she and my father didn't lie to make me do things, they just said "do it, or...." That was all I needed. LOL!
Audrey Humaciu says
That wasn't a lie on your mom's part, that was protecting her sources. 😉
Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Hahaha over your dead body... 😛 These are hilarious!
