Your Friday Frivolity Hosts are sharing their favorite funny TV commercials. Let me get my old lady voice ready. *Ahem.* "Back in my day, we didn't fast forward the commercials. We watched 'em, and we loved 'em. The commercials back then had real jingles. Jingles that would stay with you for days." To those of you of a certain age, I apologize in advance for any earworms caused by these vintage 1970's commercials with the catchiest jingles. Annoying tunes that stay with you for daaaaayyyyys.
Hold the Pickle Hold the Lettuce...
Wouldn't you like to be a pepper too?
Meow, meow, meow!
Cuz' Oscar Meyer has a way with B-O-L-O-G-N-A.
She can bring home the bacon. Fry it up in a pan.
So, did you remember some of those? Or are you a youngster that simply cringed at the hideous clothes and crazy hairstyles?

The Hosts:
Lisa is an awesomely hilarious and authentic writer who marches to her own drum on her blog Syncopated Mama, providing an "un-labelly spot" for all the happily off-beat folks out there who have been wishing to find kindred spirits. She shares her adventures building a natural home, teaching her adorbs daughter, establishing and refining positive communication skills, camping, creating, cooking, and so much more! She shares her twist on Chicken and Waffles with us this week. YUM!
Jessica is an amazingly funny and smart blogger from Wales who writes at Babi a Fi on a whole range of topics -- from entertaining vintage nostalgia, to technology tutorials, to book reviews, to raising her adorable munchkin, and so much more! This week she reviews the Japan Funbox that I know my son and husband would LOVE!
In a fun twist, since we now have four hosts we will also have FOUR FEATURES.... but you will have to go check out the other three blogs to see if you were featured there! 😉
My featured post this week is this great repurposed bathroom shelf from an old chair from My DIY OL. Promise me you won't freak out when you get to the page. It is in German, but I always get fabulous ideas from Uwe's page even if I don't quite understand what he is saying. Google translate usually gets me through.
Now time for the new stuff!
This a link-up for all things funny, fun, encouraging, hopeful, and happy. That includes free printables, giveaways, and other fun stuff to make us SMILE and start the weekend off on the right foot.

First of all, have I ever mentioned before that I LOVE that you are the "VP of sarcasm?" Oh, honey, me, too, in my house. 😉 And I well remember all these jingles, in large part because when I was in show choir in HS we sang a song that put all of them and more together. I still remember it fondly to this day. Thanks as always for hosting the Frivolity...my fave.
Audrey Humaciu says
Now that would have been a fun show to see! (And I am not being sarcastic 😉 )
Jamie @ Medium Sized Family says
These jingles are awesome! I was born in the late 70s, so some of the commercials were still running for parts of my childhood. The others, my Mom would walk around singing all the time. haha!
Christina Morley says
Thanks for hosting! Wishing you a jingle-fantastic weekend!
Sarah eliza @ devastateboredom says
Ahhh so fun and funny! That perfume one had me in stitches... ;P
Jess Powell (Babi a Fi) says
I love that Dr Pepper one - by which I mean I'm gonna need to because it's going to floating in my head for days! Lol. I watched these with Marianna just now and she seemed to think the meow mix ad was the best thing ever. 😀 #FridayFrivolity
Audrey Humaciu says
The Dr. Pepper one was the one that stuck with me, luckily. My son would probably like the Meow Mix one too.
